Happy Birthday My Beautiful Boy!

How can three years go by in just the blink of an eye? It's amazing how quickly time seems to be flying lately. I am truly so happy for my baby boy that he is growing, playing, thriving and learning. But I'll admit to you, I was sad on his birthday. I nearly cried when he woke up the day of his birthday and I said "Happy Birthday my big THREE year old boy!"

Marked as Christ's Own

On April 13th Baby Pookers was Baptized. It was a really special day and we were so blessed to be surrounded with friends, family and especially his wonderful Godparents whom we are so grateful for! I wish I had pictures from the the baptismal service. He was such a sweet baby and didn't cry at all, even when Father Jerry carried him down the aisle. I also never got a picture of him in his little white outfit because I changed him out of it right after the service so he'd be comfortable for his nap at Mom's house (where she graciously hosted a wonderful brunch - Thanks Mom!) I was also encouraged to change him by Toots asking me why he was wearing 'girl clothes' and dear Hubby referring to it as a 'clown suit'. (It really wasn't that bad.)

My favorite part of the service is at the actual moment of baptism when they say "You are sealed by the Holy Spirit in Baptism and marked as Christ's own for ever." Isn't that wonderful and comforting? I can't wait for him be able to understand those words fully and know deeply the love that he has in Christ.

This weekend my sweet sister turned 22. We took her and her boyfriend to Wildhorse Saloon. It was alot of fun.

...and then there were ten.

Every mother knows that one day her baby boy will let go of those apron strings and find another true love. She can only pray that she has loved him enough and taught him well... I guess I had just hoped it would take Baby Pookers a little longer than 5 months. But alas, he has already moved on and found joy away from his mothers loving arms. His current love affair seems to be with his chubby little toes. He was so excited to find them and he was even more thrilled when he realized he could put them in his mouth. For a little man cutting his first teeth there couldn't be any greater pleasure, apparently.

Thank goodness he pauses from his obsession occasionally to notice Dear Old Mom again.

April Showers

Well I sure hope there will be some May flowers after all of this rain lately. And I especially hope they will be blooming in an assortment of colorful pots on our still unused new deck. Now normally I am one of those odd balls who loves a good rainy day now and then, but since it's been raining for several days straight they still haven't had a chance to seal the deck (or the patio which we're going to have done too.) Meanwhile our patio furniture has spent several days patiently waiting out the storms in our backyard. I'm sure our neighbors are really enjoying our "Ode to Sanford & Son" display.
